Many thanks in May

2 May 2019

Dear Friends,

‘Material Culture’ is a term describing the objects that contribute to our sense of self and community. With Our Linen Stories from Journeys in Design we are exploring part of Scotland’s Material Culture, leading this with some stunning Contemporary Design.

More than 1200 people attended Our Linen Stories Tour in 2018 and through May and June this year we are revisiting to say Thank You with a series of weekend pop-up exhibitions and events including new Designs from Scotland and some of the wonderful stories so generously offered en route, renaming this tour:

Y/Our Linen Stories.

Selkirk Saturday 4 & Sunday 5 May, The Haining
Lisburn Saturday 11 May, The Irish Linen Centre Lisburn Museum
Grantown Saturday 18 & Sunday 19 May Grantown on Spey Museum
Leith Saturday 25 & Sunday 26 May Custom Lane

Thank you for your generous response to our 2018 tour and in particular for the many personal stories and treasured objects shared, which now give such fascinating focus to an expanded exhibition. We hope you enjoy this celebration of your local Linen Stories and will be intrigued by the themes that have emerged.

All our events are free to attend and you can register your interest using our Eventbrite Entries.

With best wishes from all the team,

John
